Garner scored 22 first quarter points on Thursday night en route to a 60-0 bombardment of Smithfield-Selma in JV football at Trojan Stadium.
Garner (4-1, 2-0) scored on their second drive of the game as Tyreece Taylor rumbled in from 12-yards out for his first score of the night and it was 7-0, Trojans.
After SSS fumbled away the ball on their next drive, Garner went to the air as Brighton Hudson connected with Julius Barnes for a 15-yard touchdown pass and a 14 point Trojan lead.
The final Garner score of the first quarter came when Snoop Dawson found a seem and raced 51 yards for the score and after a two point conversion, it was 22-0 Trojans after the opening stanza.
Unfortunately for the Spartans, the second quarter was more of the same as the men of Troy scored on their first drive of the second quarter when Taylor scored for the second time, on a 42 yard run and a 30-0 lead.
After a Garner safety made it 32-0, Garner scored again on a run from Gregory Stewart and the final score of the first half was a 16 yard run from Raekown Britton and at the break, the Trojan led 46-0.
In the second half, Garner scored just twice, thanks to a continuous clock. The first score of the second half was a defensive score when Britton picked off a pass and took it back 22-yards for a 53-0 lead.
Finally, Jaython Dunston rumbled six yards to pay dirt and the Trojans capped the game with a 60-0 lead.
Garner will be back in action next Thursday when the travel to West Johnston for a 7:00 kick-off.
