Entering the 2011 NFL preseason, three former Garner Trojans found themselves on the roster of a NFL team. Brandon Banks ('06) with the Redskins, Richard Medlin ('06) with the Patriots and Chris Culliver ('07) with the 49ers.
Banks who spent last season as a kick returner and wide receiver for the Redskins will return for his second season with Washington.
Culliver was drafted in the third round by San Francisco will get set for his first season by the bay as he was selected for the team after the preseason came to a close.
Medlin who signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Fayetteville State had an outstanding preseason for New England but with six running backs in the Patriots camp, the former Trojan, unfortunately did not make the team.
