East Garner Magnet Middle School has been awarded the School of Excellence Award by the Magnet Schools of America . EGMMS is one of eighteen magnet schools in the Wake County Public School System selected from a pool of more than 2,000 magnet schools from across the nation. East Garner Magnet Middle School is an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme magnet school serving 1,100 students in grades six through eight. The school’s principal is Cathy Williams.
