Varsity Basketball Moves to 2-0

Coach Gray and his Varsity Basketball squad moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 64-54 win over Durham Riverside Saturday afternoon at the Southern Durham Invitational.

The Trojans started off slow leading by just two points after the first quarter, 9-7, but opened things up in the second stanza for a 30-24 halftime lead.

However, the game changed when Garner outscored Riverside 17-4 in the third quarter to pull away.

Garner was led by Emmanuel McClain with 14 points. Cameron Redd had 12 and Donald Johnson scored 11 for the Trojans.

The Trojans are back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Wake Forest-Rolesville for a 7:30 tip.
