Junior team edges Enloe to remain undefeated

The Junior Trojans make it four in a row with the Saturday 4-3 win over Enloe. Starter Robert Doak gets the win and Matt Hawley the save. C.J. Schmitt has 2 hits and an RBI and Josh Randle has 2 hits also for the Trojans. Alec Hulmes drives in hustling Seth Council in the first for a 1-0 Garner lead. The Eagles answer with a run in the 2nd to tie it up. Council reaches again in the 3rd hit-by-pitch, steals second and comes home on Schmitt's 2nd RBI to re-take the lead 2-1. Josh Randle leads off the 4th with a single and Council drives him in with an RBI single. Acquil Sanders scores on an Enloe wild pitch for a 4-1 advantage. The Trojans (4-0) flash the leather in the fifth with Randle and Sanders both making terrific defensive catches to stop an Enloe rally. The Eagles plate two in the 6th but Brett Bailey puts out fire, gunning an Enloe would-be base stealer for the final out. Hawley puts the game away with a 1-2-3 7th, with 2 strikeouts. The Trojans are next in action Monday at Trojan Park for a 5PM game vs Lee County, which will be followed by the Senior team.
