Marbrey commits to Meredith softball
Congratulations to senior pitcher Lauren Marbrey on her committment to Meredith College softball. Miss Marbrey has led the Lady Trojans with a 46-9 record during her three years as Coach Moe Barbour's starter, hitting .352 with 62 RBI & consecutive GNRC titles & NCHSAA playoff berths. Lady Trojan Tennis establishes record wins for the season
Congratulations to Coach Walls and the Lady Trojan Tennis Team on their school record 15 wins, en route to a 4th consecutive 2nd place in the GNRC. The Trojans (15-3, 12-2 in the GNRC) 9 seniors compiled a 51-18 record during their four years at GMHS: Hannah Hamlin, Sarah Hamlin, Elizabeth Pittman, Alyssa Clark, Bailey Roque, Abbey Walton, Sarah Koczwara, Natalie Whittington and Tanika Fink.

Jefferies commits to UNC Pembroke
Congratulations to Senior Ka'asha Jefferies on her committment to UNC Pembroke volleyball. A 2012 All-GNRC, our Lady Trojan has 163 kills in 50 sets with 34 aces this season for the 17-2 defending conference champs. Earlier this season, they stretched their GNRC record to 60 consecutive match wins. Congrats Miss Jefferies!

Kamphuis commits to the Trojans

The 1955-1956 GHS Girls Basketball Team are looking for each other. The co-captains, Barbara Kelly and Hazel Stevens are seeking any information regarding their former team members. Adams commits to the Seahawks
Congratulations to Lady Trojan soccer star Bayleigh Adams on her commitment to UNC Wilmington soccer. Miss Adams is a standout All-GNRC performer as a 3-year varsity starter. Hines sets Trojan record with 7 touchdowns
Junior Nyheim Hines scores a school record 7TD's with 508 yards of total offense in the Trojans 58-10 win over Broughton. Hines finishes once short of the NCHSAA record in 3 qtrs of play. Senior Brighton Hudson leads the Trojans (2-1) with 11-12 passing for 326 yards and 4 TD's
Hines school record breaks Hall of Famer Anthony Barbour's 1987 record of six and just one short of the NCHSAA record held by 4 players. Hines has 13 TD's in 3 games, which is one better than the Garner record through three games (Barbour 1987). His 508 yards total offense (268 rush, 40 pass, 163 receiving and 37 returns) sets the school record (breaking his record of 471 from last week) as was his 44 points scored. Hines has 598 rushing & 1,252 yards of total offense through 3 games which leads the NC 4A so far this season.
The Trojans set a school record for total offense 731 yards for the night in their 26th straight home win at beautiful Trojan Stadium.

The Garner Trojans (1-0) will hit the road for the first time in this young 2013 season as they head to Cleveland High School to take on the Rams (0-1). Top-ranked Trojans down Middle Creek AGAIN 21-16
Nyheim Hines scores 3 TD's including a 93-yard kick return and the Thurman Leach era opens with the top-ranked Trojans 21-16 win over #4 Middle Creek. Hines scores on runs of 5 & 11 yards, piling up 85 yards rushing adding 47 receiving. Brighton Hudson passes for 141 yards for Garner (1-0) Julius Barnes leads the Trojans with 55 yards receiving on two catches.
Trojan defense is keyed by a key fumble recovery by Markus Mosley on a Mustang fourth and goal from the one with just 0:58 left to preserve the win. Aaron Smith & Greg Wells fumble recoveries were key to the Trojan win, their 10th in 11 games against the cross town rivals.
