Varsity baseball takes control of the GNRC with a 4-0 win vs 2nd place West Johnston last night. Brighton Hudson pitched a gem with a complete game one hitter with 16 strikeouts. Carrington Austin carried the load offensively with a two run homer to center field in the 4th inning.

Trojans Lacrosse Almost Slide By In Overtime
Men's lacrosse battled it out last friday against Enloe. Michael Mason scores right from the start of the game for the trojans after the score was back and forth the whole game. Garner's Tristian Wood, Zach Hancock with each putting a point on the score board and Justin Clark with two goals. Tied 5-5 at the end of the official time. Leading the eagles and trojans to play in sudden death for overtime. Enloe end up with the win of 6-5.

Garner Battles In The Brittany Against Middle Creek
Garner's girls soccer team played against Middle Creek in this weekends The Brittanys Showcase in Wilson. The game started with Garner's Bayleigh Adams scoring the first goal of the game. A little after Middle Creek followed with a goal, holding the score tied 1-1 at the half. Garner not able to hold up Middle Creek scoring two more goals in the second half. The final score of the game was 1-3 Middle Creek. Elizabeth Pittman represented Garner receiving the sportsmanship ball of the game. The girls kick off this week with a game against Smith-field Selma at home Monday night and at West Johnston Wednesday night. (1-3-1) (1-0-1)

Women's Soccer Kick Off Their Season
Garner women's soccer opened their first game of the conference against Clayton Monday night in double overtime with the overall score being a tie of 0-0.
Wednesday they played away at East Wake for their second conference game. First goal of the regular season by Hannah Hamlin assisted by Heather Wilfong. Getting into the grove Bayleigh Adams & Michaela Wycoff score both making it 3-0 at halftime. During the second half East Wake scores two fast goals against garner. Ending of the game Wycoff scores another goal finishing the score at 4-2. (1-2-1) (1-0-1)
